University of Greenwich
The University of Greenwich is one of London’s top universities, situated in a World Heritage Site on the banks of the river Thames.
Between 2024-25 I worked as a freelance graphic designer alongside the University of Greenwich team, creating a campaign championing it’s apprenticeship scheme. Apprentice to Master seeks to reach people who may not necessarily think an apprenticeship is suitable for them, highlighting the reasons it can be enriching for learners and employers alike, and is suitable for people from all backgrounds.
Initial concepts
It was essential for the campaign to be interchangeably apprentice or business facing. Working alongside the copywriter, videographer and University, we outlined a concept which would succinctly show the progression of a prospective apprentice ‘before’ and then also ‘after’ in an industry they perhaps would not have previously believed was accessible to them. It also allowed us to outline how a prospective apprentice could be a valuable asset to participating businesses. I designed a series of digital and print concepts which used existing photography of apprentices in their normal clothes and then training within their respective industry. One of the campaign slogans I proposed was ‘from Apprentice to Master’, which was expanded upon by the copywriter and formed the central concept of the campaign. The campaign included: social-media content, printed posters and brochures, animated adverts for trains, HTML web banners, infographics, email banners and much more.
In 2023 I supported the Greenwich team as their freelance graphic designer to work on a series of material promoting the accessibility of the University to prospective and existing students.
I created a variety of desktop wallpapers and screensavers, adverts for bus stops on the University of Greenwich shuttle-bus routes, a new vinyl wrap design for the UoG shuttle-buses and brochures for the UoG accommodation.
